About Chef Barbara

 

Chef Barbara’s interest in the culinary world began at an early age, inspired by her Mother’s passion for food and innovative cooking style. Her career spans 30 years in the restaurant industry, beginning with traveling and working in various restaurants while studying and learning the trade.

Landing in St. Michaels, Chef Barbara then branched out in to management and ran front-of-house for an intimate, gourmet Italian restaurant as well as established an extensive wine program. Her success in all aspects of running a thriving business spurred a desire to become chef and owner of her own restaurant. She then opened Bella Luna in St. Michaels, MD, which focused on gourmet Italian cuisine made from the finest and freshest local ingredients. Bella Luna was a successful restaurant and catering operation for over 10 years, attracting both local and regional fans.

Eventually, Chef Barbara realized that she enjoyed the unique challenges of catering more than running a brick and mortar operation. She then left Bella Luna to pursue her passion and focus on expanding her catering business.

With a love for adventure, each new catering project is a new challenge and brings about Chef Barbara’s passion for creativity. Flying Fork Catering is a culmination of the best aspects from 30 years of restaurant experience and maintains a focus on fresh, local ingredients, innovative style and above all, the desire to create an unforgettable culinary experience with each project.
